Sydney Cityscape
My first flight of 2013 saw Perth disappear beneath the clouds and Sydney appear on the horizon.
I had had a little trouble with booking somewhere to stay, but was saved by some extreme generosity and spent my first night in the city in the lap of luxury...my own room...at the Sydney Hilton! I dont normally post photos of the places I stay, but I thought this was worth sharing! I also found the coffee and cake to be mighty fine!
Having been properly spoilt I managed to find myself a good backpackers to stay in and set about a little sightseeing. Fantastically I was able to meet up with a few friends in the city and so really got to work the tourist angle and see lots of the fun things.
I was especially entertained when a friend in the states messaged me to say a friend of her's also from Northampton was in Sydney and that we should meet up and hang out.. So we did!
Hannah and I, explored the city, ate Kangaroo Pizza - it gives you a real spring in your step! And managed to get $25 tickets to the Opera House to see Blaze - http://blazetheshow.com/uk/ - We had a lot of fun!
Off to see Blaze with Hannah :)
I walked over the Harbour bridge, not the bridge climb though - that was super expensive! Drank coffee from Toby's Estate - excellent suggestion Rob :) Visited Sydney Hillsong (Hi Sebastian) and watched the sunset from Mrs Macquaries point (Thanks Laura).

I also took the ferry to Manley where I was able to chill out on the beach as well as take the coastal path to the North Head look out and some pretty impressive cliffs. It was nice to get out of the city just a bit, especially as the whether was ridiculously hot on a few of the days I was there. I thought Perth was hot, but so far Sydney's 41c reigns at the top of my travel thermometer! (Blaze was right!)
But, this is/was it...my final stop in Australia, tomorrow I'm flying to Auckland and will go in search of Hobbits - a good thing really as the duck has finally found me!!
(Darling Harbour, summer festival madness! All just a little random)
I'm a little curious to know who owns the bath big enough for the giant duck...
